These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FreeConvertKit websites, tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Description of the Services

FreeConvertKit provides free, browser-based utilities for converting, compressing, resizing, and editing files. Unless a specific tool states otherwise, processing occurs locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers for conversion.

2. Eligibility and acceptable use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Process content you do not have the right to use or distribute
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload our infrastructure
  • Use the Services to distribute malware or infringe intellectual property
  • Misrepresent FreeConvertKit or imply we endorse your outputs

You are solely responsible for compliance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

3. No professional advice

Outputs from our tools — including AI-generated summaries, translations, or sentiment scores — are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. You should independently verify results before relying on them.

4. "As is" provision

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.

We do not warrant that any tool will preserve formatting perfectly, produce error-free output, or support every file type, size, or browser configuration. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice.

5. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FREECONVERTKIT AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES — INCLUDING DAMAGES RESULTING FROM:

  • Lost, corrupted, or incorrectly converted files
  • AI or automated tool outputs you rely upon
  • Browser crashes, memory limits, or device incompatibility
  • Temporary unavailability or modification of tools

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (TYPICALLY ZERO, AS THE SERVICES ARE FREE) OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. Your content and responsibilities

You retain all rights to files and text you process. Because processing is local, you are responsible for backing up originals, reviewing outputs before use, and securing your device. We do not monitor or control user content.

7. Intellectual property

The FreeConvertKit name, branding, site design, and original materials are owned by us or our licensors. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. You may not copy or republish substantial portions of the site without permission.

8. Termination

We may suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. You may stop using the Services at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive termination.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws in the jurisdiction where FreeConvertKit is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
